Melbourne Victory has partnered with the Victorian Primary Schools Sports Association to assist in the promotion and development of primary school and junior football programs at school, state and national level.

The partnership not only achieves the desired educational outcomes, but also assists in the promotion of junior development pathways for students.

Melbourne Victory players Matthew Foschini and Mathew Theodore attended the Melbourne Victory Cup earlier this month to present each participant with their own exclusive Melbourne Victory show bag and poster, serving as acknowledgment of the outstanding effort of 16 schools that made the State Championships.

The inaugural Melbourne Victory Cup was awarded to Hampton Primary School (Boys Mixed) and Mt Scopus College Burwood (Girls).

St Pauls East Bentleigh (Boys Mixed) and Spring Gully Bendigo (Girls) were runners-up.

Melbourne Victory’s support of the VPSSA includes acknowledgement of the Victorian state teams that placed second (Boys) and third (Girls) respectively at the recent School Sport Australia National Championship.

Both state teams will be presented prior to the Melbourne Victory’s match against Brisbane Roar match at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, October 3.
