Melbourne Victory stars Mark Milligan and Archie Thompson will head to Brazil to take on the World Cup hosts in September’s upcoming international friendly.

Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck today announced a 22-player squad that will face the Brazilian Men-s National Football team, “The Seleção”, in an international friendly match at the Estadio Nacional Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasilia, Brazil on Saturday 7 September 2013 (kick-off 4:15pm local, 5:15am AEST).

Milligan and Thompson, along with Matt McKay and Mitchell Duke, make up the four Hyundai A-League players within the Socceroos squad.

This will be the seventh match between Brazil and Australia at senior men-s international level after the team-s last met at the Allianz Arena in the group phase of the 2006 FIFA World Cup where Brazil were 2-0 winners.

The Socceroos are currently ranked 46th in the FIFA World Rankings whilst the Brazilians are currently 9th (as of 8 August 2013).

The match between the Socceroos and Brazil will be broadcast Live & Exclusive on FOX SPORTS 3HD and 3 from 5.00am (AEST).
