NPL preview: Green Gully v Victory

NPL preview: Green Gully v Victory

Melbourne Victory travels west to face Green Gully in the penultimate round of the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria on Saturday afternoon.

Victory suffered a 6-0 defeat to Pascoe Vale last week in what proved to be a valuable lesson for Gareth Naven’s young outfit.

Going behind early hurt Victory’s chances, before some individual brilliance added to the final scoreline for Paco.

Things do not get any easier for Victory, with a trip to Green Gully Reserve next on the horizon.

Coached by Arthur Papas, the nine-time Victorian champions guaranteed their place in the PS4 NPL Victoria finals series with an important win over Oakleigh Cannons on Monday night.

Boasting the likes of Liam Boland, Nick Krousoratis and former Victory defender Rodrigo Vargas, Gully will look to stay in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Fresh from knocking Central Coast Mariners out of the Westfield FFA Cup, the Cavaliers will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Victory.
