Preview

Melbourne Victory has risen to second on the NPL 3 Victoria table heading into an away clash with Nunawading City on Saturday.

Victory’s unbeaten run was extended to an impressive eight games following a well-fought 2-0 win over Geelong at home last week.

Goals to Kebede and Duratovic after the main break secured the three points in a dominant second half following a tough opening 45′.

Nunawading sit eighth on the table with a 4-0-6 record, nine points behind Victory.

In their only head-to-head matchup in last year’s suspended season, Victory earned a 6-0 win.

With Victory’s A-League Men season wrapped up, the NPL squad could see an injection of talent for the trip to Nunawading.

Player in focus

Binyam Kebede regained his form in a strong second half showing, finishing a penalty and peppering the Geelong keeper with a number of powerful strikes.
