NPL preview: Pascoe Vale v Victory

Melbourne Victory will have three PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria points on its radar when it travels to Melbourne’s north-west to face Pascoe Vale at CB Smith Reserve on Friday night.

Victory’s campaign suffered another hiccup against Melbourne Knights in Round 10, after it conceded late in a 2-1 loss.

Notwithstanding the fact its winless run has now stretched to six matches, Victory has not lost by more than a single goal in its past four matches.

Stefan Nigro, John Maclean and Joey Katebian have been in good form for Victory, while the potential return of George Howard could add some extra bite up front.

Victory will have to contend against a typically steadfast Pascoe Vale side, which has endured a bleak run of form of its own.

Residing in the bottom half of the PS4 NPL Victoria standings, Paco laboured throughout March and April, which included its exit from the Westfield FFA Cup Victorian qualifiers.

Pascoe Vale’s most recent win was against Avondale in Round 2, ensuring that it will be hungry for more.

Vitale Ferrante’s men earned a point away to Oakleigh Cannons on Monday night, which will give it some extra confidence coming into Friday’s clash.

A win for Victory could see it surge to as high as ninth spot in the standings, depending on other results.

The under-20s will kick off at 6.15pm, followed by the seniors at 8.15pm.
