NPL preview: Victory v Richmond SC

NPL preview: Victory v Richmond SC

Melbourne Victory will lock horns with Richmond SC at Epping Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in a season-defining clash for both teams.

With Richmond and Melbourne labouring in the bottom third of the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria standings, nothing less than three points will suffice.

Victory will want to redeem itself after a disappointing 2-1 loss to FC Bulleen Lions on Monday night, while Richmond will return to Melbourne’s north following its 4-0 hiding in the final round of the Westfield FFA Cup qualifiers against Hume City on Wednesday.

Victory came up trumps the last time the two sides met at Kevin Bartlett Reserve, walking away a 6-3 win.

It will look to banish its poor home record against an inconsistent Richmond side, which has endured a bumpy season to date.

The Rick Mensink coached outfit has showcased its ability in a number of matches in 2016 after being promoted as 2015 PlayStation 4 NPL 1 Victoria champions.

Entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concession and free for children 15 and under.

The under-20s kick off at 1pm, followed by the seniors at 3pm.
