Melbourne Victory looks to return to winning ways in the NPL2 West when it hosts the Springvale White Eagles on Sunday.
Summary
Victory produced a promising display last time out, but was held to a 2-2 draw by Box Hill United.
It is back at Epping Stadium for the second of three straight home games when it hosts Springvale in Round 15.
Stefan Ristic, 18, grabbed a brace against Box Hill for his first goals of the campaign.
The attacking midfielder opened the scoring after just 11 seconds, while his second was a header from an Aydin Mustedanagic cross to bring Victory level.
Victory is eighth in the NPL2 West, while Springvale is 10th in the NPL2 East.
The teams last met in July last year, when the White Eagles recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win at home.
Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts
“I just want to make sure that we stop at nothing to make sure that we improve in the things that we need to do in the match. Also, we need to understand the importance of why we need to do it because it’ll improve our performance and you’ll get rewards from it. More than anything, it’s about wanting to do it, which at the end of the day is collectively working hard towards a common goal.”
