Melbourne Victory attacker James Troisi has been at the heartbeat of Victory’s creativity in recent weeks, scoring four goals in his last five Hyundai A-League appearances.

The 30-year-old is enjoying his third consecutive season as a Victory player and is closing in on a century of Hyundai A-League appearance for the club.

Ahead of a mouth-watering clash with Perth Glory in Round 18, an in-form Troisi could be vital in Victory securing all three points.

With seven assists already to his name, Troisi has provided his teammates with more goals than any other A-League player this season.

Five of Troisi’s 14 shots on target have found the back of the net, meaning he has played an active role in 12 of Victory’s 39 goals since Round One.

Last week in Round 17, Troisi took centre stage again – scoring Victory’s first and assisting Kosta Barbarouses for the third; sealing a 2-3 win over Central Coast Mariners.

Perth Glory hasn’t lost an A-League game against Victory since January 2018. On that occasion, Troisi equalised in a five-goal thriller at AAMI Park, before Barbarouses’ 90th minute winner.

In total, Troisi has made nine appearances against Glory – winning five of them and scoring two.

This Sunday, Victory is hoping to go within a point of the league leaders and Troisi could be the man to have the final say.
