Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce young winger Polly Doran has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2020/21 Westfield W-League season.
Doran, 19, made her Westfield W-League debut with the club last season, appearing off the bench eight times as Victory reached the Semi Finals.
The teenager also showed glimpses of her talent at the inaugural AFC Women’s Club Championship, starting in all three of Victory’s games in South Korea.
Doran, who joined Victory after starring for Calder United in NPL Victoria Women’s, said she is looking forward to her second W-League season.
“I’m really excited to have signed with the club and the team is counting down the days until we kick the season off against the Wanderers on December 27,” Doran said.
“I learnt a lot during my first season in the W-League, and I’m really enjoying playing football in the environment that Jeff and the team has been building over the past couple of years.
“My focus is to continue developing my game further this season, training hard on and off the pitch and doing everything I can to help the team improve on where we finished last season.”
W-League Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, said he was pleased to add another talented youngster to the Victory squad.
“Polly brought plenty of energy to our playing group last season and it’s good to have her back for 2020/21,” Hopkins said.
“I hope she can continue to push herself and drive the standards and expectations we have set as a group for the season ahead.
“With Polly, Kyra (Cooney-Cross), Melina (Ayres) and Mindy (Barbieri) on board this season, we have talented group of young players in our squad which we believe will excite our members and fans this season.”
