Head Coach Tony Popovic spoke to the media post-match.
On the performance…
“I think the overriding emotion is frustration. Frustrated that, you know, we didn’t come away with the three points.”
“I thought we were outstanding in the first half, you know, to come away from home and play the way we did, I thought it was great.”
“Maybe we can do better in the front third in terms of chance creation, but they’re a good team defensively, they set deep, never troubled.”
“In the end, you know, we can’t blame anyone but ourselves. I thought in the last 10 minutes, we gave Wellington a chance to come back in the game. And ultimately, that cost us.”
“We came here, we dominated a game of football. In the last 10 minutes, we stopped passing, we stopped using the advantage of the extra player and we started defending the lead. We’ve got to improve in that area.”
“Because up until that point, we weren’t troubled for the entire game. Shows you how well we’re doing. But also that last 10 minutes shows you how much improvement we’ve got to make.”
