Privitelli praises Victory effort

Melbourne Victory attacker Lia Privitelli praised her team-mates for their impressive second half after a 2-1 loss to Sydney FC.

Goals from Taylor Ray and Chloe Logarzo put the Sky Blues in control at AAMI Park on Friday.

However, Victory was dominant in the second half as a Privitelli header dragged it back into the game, but it was unable to find a second as its Westfield W-League finals chances were ended.

“It’s pretty disappointing,” Privitelli told Fox Sports.

“But we still have next week so we’re just going to go out there and do what we normally do, give it everything.

“It’s been a great season for us, milestones for a couple of players like G (Gulcan Koca, who equalled the Victory appearance record) today.

“It was an awesome effort from the girls, particularly in the second half.”

“I think everyone knew it was do or die so we just gave everything we had,” Privitelli added.

“The people who came off the bench did a great effort but unfortunately we just couldn’t get the three points.”
