Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Rick Smith, a long-standing Commercial Partner through PFD Food Services, will be supporting the Club’s Academy scholarship program for the next 3 years.
The Rick Smith Scholarship Program will support the development of the next generation of male and female players at Melbourne Victory by helping the Club to develop a youth scholarship program.
In recognition of Rick Smith’s support, the Club will present two Scholarship Awards at the annual Victory Medal for the best male and female scholarship player of the year, with the awards to be named in Rick’s honour.
Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie said she was thrilled to be able to spotlight Rick Smith’s contribution to youth football at Melbourne Victory.
“We’re incredibly proud to have Rick’s name associated with our Scholarship program,” Carnegie said.
“Rick has showed how important the next generation of Melbourne Victory’s A-League Men and Women is to him and we’re excited to see our Academy flourish with Rick’s support.”
Rick Smith said he is honoured to be able to support to the Club’s future stable of talent.
“I’m a great believer of youth development through sport and I am pleased to be supporting the Club’s Scholarship Program”, Smith said.
Victory’s NPL junior sides have commenced their respective seasons while the Club’s NPL U23 and U21 sides kick off their NPL3 campaign against Beaumaris on Sunday 19 March.
