Melbourne Victory head coach Carlos Salvachua is eager to get his side back on track after Friday’s 3-0 loss to Sydney FC.

Victory was beaten at AAMI Park, where Adam le Fondre, Kosta Barbarouses and Alexander Baumjohann scored for Sydney.

Baumjohann and Victory stalwart Leigh Broxham were sent off in additional time of the Hyundai A-League clash.

Speaking at his post-match news conference, Salvachua discussed the game, Marco Rojas and bouncing back.

on the game…
“The game was perfect for them after scoring the first goal. It would be different, of course, if we can start winning the game or just in the second half we can score and continue 1-1. We opened the game as well because at the end the players wanted to go, but the structure was not correct in my perspective.”

on Marco Rojas…
“Marco is the same. He’s not training with the team, just one day, he’s finishing one month without training and he needs time as well. We cannot expect that to see the same Marco that two years ago here finishing the league. Now he’s starting and he needs time as well.”

on the squad…
“The players they are winners and we’re not winning during the year and especially today they are not happy, but now we have to work on this situation, we have to change as soon as possible as well.”

on solutions…
“Now we have to fix defensive problems because we concede a lot of goals and we are creating a lot of chances and then enough chances during the games and we have to finish because we have quality in front and we need training sessions.”
