Sherman appointed General Manager – Technical & Academy

Melbourne Victory is pleased to confirm Drew Sherman has joined the Club as General Manager – Technical & Academy.

Sherman will oversee the Club’s talent development pathway and youth teams, including the structure and ongoing roll out of the Melbourne Victory Academy. 

Sherman arrives at Melbourne Victory with a wealth of experience in youth development programs and coaching, having held coaching and management positions in academies at Everton, Wolves, Aldershot, Crawley and Southampton in England and, more recently, Brisbane Roar in the Hyundai A-League.

Melbourne Victory CEO, Trent Jacobs, was excited to have secured the services of Sherman.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Drew to the Club. He will be undertaking a role that is very important role to our future strategic direction,” said Jacobs.

“Drew brings a significant level of experience and expertise in youth development and coaching and we have a shared objective for our Women’s program, Academy and talent pathways to be at the forefront in Australia and Asia.

A former Swansea City youth player, at the age of 21 Sherman became the youngest person to complete the UEFA A License course and also holds an FFA Pro License.

Drew Sherman adds a new dimension to development of our youth programs, with Rob Sherman now taking on a more strategic and coach education focused role.
