Take a look at the stats that mattered in Melbourne Victory’s 0-0 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 26 of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.

Match comparison

While Victory enjoyed the majority of possession in the first half, Western Sydney had much more of the ball following Daniel Georgievski’s 53rd-minute dismissal.

Alarmingly for both sides, there were just three shots on target from 40 in total for a combined shooting accuracy of 7.5 per cent.

Despite being a man down, Victory defended resolutely against the Wanderers, recording 43 clearances.

Golden Boot up for grabs

With one round to go, Victory’s Besart Berisha and Brisbane Roar’s Jamie Maclaren remain joint leaders in the race for the Hyundai A-League Golden Boot.

Neither player scored at the weekend, and all eyes will be firmly focussed on the pair in their respective Round 27 matches.

Victory hosts Central Coast Mariners on Good Friday, while Brisbane is at home to Wellington Phoenix on Sunday.

Berisha is aiming for his second Hyundai A-League Golden Boot, having won the award in the 2011/12 season.

Feed the Brox

Victory stalwart Leigh Broxham looks set to become the only player to feature in every game of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season for the club.

Broxham, who has made more Hyundai A-League appearances for Victory than any other player, has clocked up 2039 minutes of playing time this season.
