This week at Victory: NPL begins, A-Leagues at home and away

Melbourne Victory’s NPL3 pre-season preparations officially conclude this week, as the side looks to kick-off its 2023 campaign on Sunday. A-Leagues wise, it’s a trip to the nation’s capital for the Women, as the Men remain in Melbourne.

A-League Men

Victory’s Men will remain in Melbourne for a second week to host the Central Coast Mariners on Sunday evening.

A second week at home offers the chance of redemption, and to build a run of form with six games left in the regular season.

In an added bonus for Victory fans, kids will be able to attend for free this week, with kick-off against the Mariners at 5:00pm.

A-League Women

A trip to Canberra is the next focus for Victory’s Women, in which claiming another three points will go a long way in cementing their spot in the Finals.

Victory will take confidence from a huge Melbourne Derby win on Labor Monday, downing crosstown rivals Melbourne City 2-0.

Speaking post-match, Hopkins explained: “There have been plenty of teams sending messages in the last few weeks and I think that this week, we sent ours and we’ve shown that we’re not ready to be run down by anyone.”

Kick-off in Canberra is 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon.

NPL

Victory’s NPL3 season kicks off on Sunday at home in Epping to Beaumaris SC from 3:00pm.

Elsewhere within the academy, all sides recorded wins across Round 6 and 7 as they look to continue their impressive form heading into the weekend.
