Sebastian Esposito expects Melbourne Victory to find their spark again this weekend.
The Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s action heads to Adelaide United for a highly-anticipated Original Rivalry showdown in Round 13 on Saturday, January 17, kick-off 7:35pm AEDT.
Victory are searching for a third away win of the season when they travel to South Australia, and in turn, a positive reaction to a narrow loss against Western Sydney Wanderers last time out.
That defeat was Victory’s first zero-point return since the end of November, when they were edged out at Brisbane Roar.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Esposito talked about making it right in front of an impressive travelling contingent at Coopers Stadium.
“I think that the connection in the game probably wasn’t as good as it’s been in the last month, and I think that it’ll come again. We probably were just a little bit off.
“For us, we’ve got a large support group coming. We’re there to play for the fans. You know how much it means to the Club, and people spend their hard-earned money to come support us. It’s about putting on a show and showing everyone how good we are.”

The hosts, Adelaide, are going after a first win in 2026, but Esposito is well aware of what the Reds can offer and is more than ready for the battle in the 2026 Pride Cup.
“We know their strengths. We know that they’re a very good side.
“We saw in the last game that they’re very dangerous. They’ve played through the lines very well. We’re just looking forward to hopefully trying to stop that.”
