Holly Furphy shared Melbourne Victory’s determination in improving their final product, beginning with the away trip to Canberra United.
Starting in every match so far this season, after signing with the Club in January 2025, Furphy has established herself as a key figure in Jeff Hopkins’ side.
Set to face Canberra at McKellar Park on Sunday, February 1, kick-off 2pm AEDT, Victory Women are targeting a return to winning ways in the Capital.
This follows losses to Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United before a scoreless home draw against Sydney FC in recent weeks.
Speaking during her pre-match press conference, Furphy explained the team’s mindset to keep positive and educate themselves from the clash with the Sky Blues.
“There’s been a huge focus this week on the attacking third and just putting that game behind us, and I think as a group, we’re pretty proud of the way we played, and we held a clean sheet, which is good.
“It’s a super positive attitude with everyone. I think we’re just trying to all come together off a few draws and a loss.”

Reflecting on Victory’s previous meeting with Canberra, the 23-year-old is determined to enact revenge in the reverse fixture.
“That was an interesting game, they had three chances and three goals, and we had a lot of chances and one goal.
“Converting our chances is a huge part of what we are trying to put away this weekend.”
Having established a starting role on the right of Victory’s attack and leading the team’s assist charts, Furphy talked highly of the connections she has built with the likes of Kennedy White and Sofia Sakalis.
“Kenna and I are pretty close off the field, so that helps obviously and understanding her movement and Sofia’s movement, as well as the 10s.
“It’s been enjoyable to have such a dynamic forward to find in these areas.”
