Melbourne Victory today confirmed it has added another date to its pre-season fixture, with the club to host Central Coast Mariners in Launceston on Sunday, July 25 2010, at Aurora Stadium.
Melbourne Victory today confirmed it has added another date to its pre-season fixture, with the club to host Central Coast Mariners in Launceston on Sunday, July 25 2010, at Aurora Stadium.
The match will be played 9 days after Melbourne Victory-s blockbuster with Argentinean giant, Boca Juniors at Etihad Stadium.
This will be the clubs fifth trip to the Apple Isle, having hosted Adelaide United there on the previous 4 occasions.
Melbourne Victory Football Operations Manager, Gary Cole is looking forward to another trip south “We obviously don-t get to play home and away fixtures in Tasmania, so the pre-season is the perfect opportunity to get down there and give the locals a taste of the A-League.”
“The people of Tasmania certainly know their football, and we always get a great turn-out down in Launceston, so it-s a trip we all look forward to”.
“We-ve only played Adelaide down there in the past, so it-ll be nice to have The Mariners this time around. Hopefully our local knowledge will stand us in good stead – because it can be a tricky place to play” Cole added.
