Melbourne Victory has named a 27-man squad for its upcoming AFC Champions League (ACL) campaign.

Victory will take on Bali United FC on Tuesday January 21 at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

Next week’s ACL Preliminary Round 2 match is free for members to attend.

Head Coach, Carlos Salvachua, said the team was looking forward to kicking off their ACL campaign.

“We believe our squad boasts a strong mix of experience and youth, with captain Ola Toivonen to lead the side,” Salvachua said.

“We had to make some tough calls given the restrictions on the amount of foreign contracted players we are able to name in our squad, and unfortunately that meant Tim Hoogland and Kristijan Dobras didn’t make the squad.

“We have also named five Y-League squad members in Aaron Anderson, Lleyton Brooks, Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio, Jack Palazzolo and Joshua Varga which is a good reflection of our youth development pathway. Depending on how far we progress in the tournament, they may get an opportunity to test themselves against some of the strongest teams in Asia.”
