Melbourne Victory remains on top of the E-League table after an 8-7 aggregate win over Wellington Phoenix in Round 3 on Thursday Night.

Following last week’s record-breaking 17-3 win over Newcastle Jets, Mo and Sarge entered the clash against our neighbours from across the ditch full of confidence.

In the first leg, Sarge dominated on the PS4 from start to finish to record a 2-0 victory. Mo, on the other hand, had his work cut out for him on XBOX.

The original Melbourne Victory E-League competitor had a 1-0 lead at half time, however conceded three times in the second half while scoring two goals of his own to lock in a 3-3 draw.

Sarge continued his fine form in the second leg, recording a 2-1 win to complete his job for the night.

Mo this time conceded first and found himself down at the half. With an aggregate win already secured for Victory, a last second goal to the Phoenix on XBOX ensured Mo’s first loss of the E-League season, ending 3-1.

Despite the loss, Victory took all the points from this round of action and therefore remain on top of the E-League table with a positive goal difference.

Melbourne Victory takes on Brisbane Roar in Round 4 of the E-League next Thursday night.
