Melbourne Victory-s Sebastian Ryall and Nathan Elasi, as well as Victory Youth-s Milos Lujic, have been selected by Qantas Young Socceroos Head Coach Jan Versleijen for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U19 Youth Championship.

The ASEAN tournament, which will be used to strengthen the team for the upcoming AFC Championships, will be held in Thailand, with Australia taking on China PR in its first match this Sunday.

“I believe we have a good team, with a mix of players with special qualities as well as good team players,” Versleijen said.

“With this mix, we are all looking towards qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt next year.”

The Qantas Young Socceroos will depart Australia this Wednesday and will use the AFF U19 Youth Championship as part of its preparations for the AFC U19 Youth Championship, which will be held in Saudi Arabia next month.

The top four nations from the AFC U19 Youth Championship will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Egypt in July 2009.
