Voting is now open for the Victory Women’s Player of the Month of December, with Melbourne Victory fans invited to choose from a trio of nominees.
The three-player shortlist represents some of Victory’s top performers in the Ninja A-League during December, with the Player of the Match winners during the month automatically nominated for the award.
After American forward Kennedy White won the first award for November, let’s look at the nominees for the Victory Women’s Player of the Month of December.
Victory Women’s Player of the Month nominees
Alana Jančevski
A consistent performer across the month from left back, Alana Jančevski’s two Player of the Match performances against Canberra United and Melbourne City has seen her nominated for December’s Player of the Month.
Averaging a FotMob rating of 7.6 in Victory’s matches during December, Jančevski provided two assists and played in all available minutes across the busy period that saw the team play five games.
Holly Furphy
Solidifying her possession on the right of Victory’s attack so far this season, Holly Furphy has been a standout performer in December.
Providing three assists in five games during the month and recording Player of the Match performances against Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets, respectively, the electric forward is in strong contention for December’s Player of the Month award.
Rhianna Pollicina
Nominated for the Player of the Month award once again, off-season recruit Rhianna Pollicina has been a revelation for Jeff Hopkins’ side and continued her form into December.
Rounding out the final three games of the month with a goal in each game, the 28-year-old midfielder has matched her teammate Kennedy White as Victory’s top scorer with six goals so far, notably taking out the Player of the Match award in Victory’s sensational comeback draw against Central Coast Mariners.
Pollicina currently ranks among the top 10 players in the league for average FotMob rating and will be contending to win Victory’s Player of the Month award for December.
