Victory was again on top throughout the second half, with Nairn, Dowie and Ayres threatening.
The best chance fell to Dowie in the 72nd minute, but the Victory captain was denied in a one-on-one with Sarah Willacy.
Substitute MelindaJ Barbieri struck the post with a deflected effort from distance, while Ayres fired wide after a Nairn pass, while Chelsie Dawber put Adelaide’s best chance over the bar.
