Melbourne Victory wishes to advise of a change of venue for this weekend’s Westfield W-League and Foxtel Y-League matches originally scheduled for Epping Stadium.
Following consultation between Melbourne Victory, Whittlesea Council and Epping Stadium ground staff it was determined the venue would not be ready to host these fixtures. Both have been moved to Lakeside Stadium.
Epping Stadium last hosted the Club’s Round 10 Westfield W-League match against Melbourne City on Saturday 5 January.
Whilst deemed fit for play by the FFA Match Commissioner and match officials prior to kick-off, it was not at the standard Melbourne Victory have come to expect from the venue.
Since then Melbourne Victory have worked closely with Whittlesea Council and Epping Stadium’s ground staff to monitor the condition of the surface, but have concluded it needs further maintenance.
This decision will allow work on the Epping Stadium pitch to continue, which will prepare the venue for the upcoming PS4 National Premier League season.
