Melbourne Victory is a win away from the Foxtel Y-League Grand Final ahead of hosting Adelaide United on Saturday.

Summary

Victory and Adelaide go into the final-round clash in third and second respectively in Conference A.

The Reds also need a win to set up a clash against Sydney FC in the decider, with Brisbane Roar top of the conference but having played all of their regular-season games.

Victory was last in action on January 12, when its five-game unbeaten run was ended in a Derby loss to City.

Ryan Lethlean and Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio were on the scoresheet for Victory, which has won four of its seven games this season.

Lawrie-Lattanzio is Victory’s leading goalscorer in the Foxtel Y-League this season, netting three times.

The teams last met in November, when Nishan Velupillay scored a 75th-minute winner for Victory in Adelaide.

Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts

“We don’t need to hide from the fact that we know what we need to do and we’ll just be focused on what we’re really strong at and do our best at how we go about the training week and what we’ve tried to do this week is getting better at what we’re strong at and focusing on how we defend and attack. It’s important they do enjoy the moment, stay calm, be happy they’re in this situation and do the best they can. After the game, we’ll see what happens.”
