Summary

Goals early in each half from Daniel Stynes and Henry Hore saw Glory to its win at Dorrien Gardens.

Victory had its chances but was unable to make it back-to-back wins in Conference A.

Perth made the ideal start through Stynes, who beat several markers before slotting past Victory goalkeeper Matthew Sutton in the sixth minute.

Victory almost had an instant response, but midfielder Aydin Mustedanagic, 18, saw his 20-yard strike tipped onto the post by Jackson Lee.

Sutton was called into action in the 16th minute, keeping out a Trent Ostler strike, before later denying Stynes with his legs.

Victory went close to levelling just before the break, but Jack Palazzolo, 18, fired narrowly wide after being played in by Stefan Ristic, 18.

Perth doubled its lead approaching the hour-mark as Hore scored following a scramble.

Victory had its chances – Thierry Iradukunda, Liston Diaz and Mustedanagic threatening – but was unable to find a way back into the game.

Head coach Gareth Naven’s post-match thoughts

“I think the group had some good intentions, but not for long periods enough. The importance of our structure, it was really evident that we need to get better at it. I can tell our group are working hard, you can tell in their faces that they’re maximising their effort. It just shows the importance of everyone understanding what they need to do in the moments of the game is so vital to make sure the performance is at a level where you can definitely get some rewards.”
