Nikos Vergos

Brought to the club ahead of the 2024/25 season, Nikolaos Vergos is an experienced Greek striker.

A Product of Olympiacos’ academy, Vergos would debut for the first team as a teenager in 2013, and feature in a UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United in 2014.

Sent out on loans to Elche, Real Madrid B and Vasas respectively, Vergos would eventually make permanent moves to fellow Greek clubs, Panathinaikos and Panetolikos.

Scoring a crucial goal to help Panetolikos avoid relegation in 2021, Vergos would later move on to Austrian side Wolfsberger AC, before returning to Greece in 2023 with Atromitos.

Melbourne Victory signed Vergos in August 2024, making an immediate impact in the team’s Australia Cup run.

The Greek number nine would go on to score 10 goals and provided five assists in all competitions in his first season with the club, including a special late brace to help us to the win over Adelaide United.

A well-rounded attacker that can score in a variety of ways and create for teammates, Vergos will look to lead the line once again after taking out the Victory Golden Boot alongside Nishan Velupillay.
