biography-icon Biography

Extending his contract for the 2025/26 season, experienced defender and club captain Roderick Miranda continues to play a vital role at Melbourne Victory.

Beginning his career with legendary Portuguese club SL Benfica, Miranda went on to become a regular in Liga Portugal with Rio Ave.

Miranda would later join Wolverhampton Wanderers, helping the club achieve promotion to the English Premier League in 2018,  before playing UEFA Champions League football on loan with Olympiacos.

After brief spells with Famalicão and Gaziantep, Miranda would make the journey to Australia and sign for Victory; a real statement signing for the club.

Consistently recognised as one of the best performing central defenders in the league since joining the club in 2021, Miranda’s physicality and defensive nous has allowed him to maintain his high levels well into his 30s.

A significant contributor on the field and in the changing rooms, Miranda will hope to continue to play an important role for Victory going forward.
