Sebastian Esposito
15 Defender
Joining Melbourne Victory on loan for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign, Sebastian Esposito is a highly touted 20-year-old central defender.
Esposito gained his first taste of professional football with Melbourne City, named on the bench in Australia Cup, AFC Champions League and A-League Men’s games.
In January 2024, the towering centre back earned the move to Serie A club US Lecce, joining up and quickly becoming a key member of the U20s side, even featuring on the first team’s bench for Serie A games against the likes of Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.
Esposito managed to reach new heights during the 2024/25 season, donning the armband for both club and country.
Starting in all available matches for Lecce’s U20s and captaining the Young Socceroos to their first-ever AFC U20 Asian Cup title, Esposito’s fine performances earned him call-ups to Australia U23 and, most notably the Socceroos’ training camp in May 2025.
Returning to Melbourne in search of professional experience, Esposito started and helped the team keep a clean sheet in Victory’s season-opening fixture against Auckland FC.
