Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of attacker Beattie Goad for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League season.
Goad returns to the A-League Women’s competition after six years abroad, playing in the top leagues of Germany and Spain with SV Meppen and UDG Tenerife as well as graduating from the US college soccer program with Stanford.
The versatile attacker has been capped by the Matildas three times, making her debut against Germany in 2021, and will return to Melbourne Victory where she made her debut as a 16-year-old in the Club’s first Championship-winning season.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins said Goad’s return was an incredible coup for the Club as the squad continues to take shape for the upcoming season.
“We’re thrilled to be able to welcome a talent like Beattie back to Melbourne Victory,” Hopkins said.
She’s proven herself in some of the top leagues in Europe and we believe she will be an important part of our forward third, whether that be in midfield or in the forward line.
“Her life experience at 25 has her primed for an exciting season in the A-League Women’s and we can’t wait to see what she has to offer.”
Goad was also excited about returning to Victory after an extended period away from Melbourne.
“It’s great to be back home and with Melbourne Victory for the coming season,” Goad said.
Victory is home for me. It’s where I made my debut in the A-League Women’s and won my first Championship as a senior player and the chance to do it all again with Jeff and the squad is something that drives me to do it all again this season.
Goad is the Club’s fifth new signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Jessika Nash, Miranda Templeman, Gema Simon and Natalie Tathem as well as the re-signings of Tiffany Eliadis, Casey Dumont, Claudia Bunge and Lia Privitelli.
