Academy Preview: Seniors host Boroondara, Academy on the road

NPL3

Melbourne Victory will be looking to solidify its position on top of the NPL3 ladder on Sunday as they face Boroondara-Carey Eagles.

Joe Palatsides’ side will be buoyed by the bounce-back win over Geelong last week where the hosts were in control for the majority of the match in the 3-0 win at Epping Stadium.

Eli Adams, Adem Duratovic, and Tomasso Minutoli were the difference in the contest as the side returned to winning ways after the loss to Nunawading City.

The NPL squads return to Epping this week for the clash against Boroondara-Carey as the U23 side looks to set the pace in the NPL3 title race, three points ahead of North Sunshine Eagles.

The newly-promoted Eagles sit in fifth position with a 4-2-3 record and are unbeaten in the last five matches, however their last two matches have been draws against Geelong and a come-from-behind draw with second last Essendon Royals which may suggest their early season promotion momentum may be coming to an end.

Daniel Ferlaino is their top scorer with four goals in the campaign, starring with a double against Doveton and is their player to watch this week.

The Under 20’s will look to keep their their nine-match winning streak alive on Sunday afternoon as well

Victory face Boroondara-Carey on Sunday at Epping Stadium, kick-off 3.00pm, Under 20’s 12.15pm.
