Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of forward Nickoletta Flannery for the 2024/25 Liberty A-League season.
The 25-year-old joins from Canberra United where she made 87 appearances over eight seasons at the Club, scoring 15 goals over two stints in the capital.
Flannery is a quick, aggressive winger who has represented her country at youth international level, representing the Young Matildas and making her A-League Women’s debut at the age of 16.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Jeff Hopkins said Flannery will add experience and guile to the side’s forward third.
“We’re delighted to be able to welcome Nicki to the squad for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.
“With almost 100 A-League Women’s games under her belt, Nicki has been an honest and formidable opponent whilst playing at Canberra and we’re pleased to have her in Victory colours this season.
“Her addition will look to compliment our current forward third with her pace and eye for goal being important hallmarks for us to chase her signature.”
Flannery was also thrilled to be making the move to Melbourne.
“I am very excited to be joining Melbourne Victory for the upcoming season and can’t wait to get started,” Flannery said.
“This is a new chapter and a pivotal move for me in my career. I’m incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to work towards lifting some silverware with Jeff and the team this season.”
“I’m looking forward to working hard and adding value to the already incredible team in the hope of achieving everything we set our minds to both collectively and individually this season.”
Flannery is the second new signing of the A-League Women’s joining Alana Jancevski as Jeff Hopkins’ side returns to pre-season training on 23 September in preparation for the 2024/25 campaign.
