Melbourne Victory signs Louis D’Arrigo

Melbourne Victory is pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Louis D’Arrigo from Polish First Division club Lechia Gdańsk, through to the end of the 2026/27 A-Leagues Season.

After establishing himself as one of the best young players in the A-League, including as a member of Adelaide United’s 2019 FFA Cup-winning team, D’Arrigo made the move to Europe in 2023, where he joined Lechia Gdańsk. He played 35 games for the club, helping them secure a first-place finish in the Polish I Liga and promotion to the Polish top tier in 2024.

The 23-year-old has also impressed during his international career with both the Young Socceroos and Olyroos, and in 2024 was awarded the Dylan Tombides Medal from Football Australia and the PFA, a medal awarded to the player selected from within Australia’s youth international teams who demonstrates exemplary standards, commitment, and courage in representing Australia at youth level.

“We’re very pleased to welcome a player of Louis’ calibre to the Club,” Diles said.

“He’s shown he can perform consistently at a high level and will add depth and quality to our midfield. Following a strong season, our focus is already on building towards the next step, and we believe Louis can play a crucial role in that journey.

He’s a quality addition, and we’re looking forward to having him in the change room.”

D’Arrigo said he was thrilled to be joining Melbourne Victory and couldn’t wait to get started.

“Joining Melbourne Victory is an exciting step in my career,” D’Arrigo said.

“This is a Club with an incredible culture, passionate fans, and a real hunger for success. To be part of that environment and have the chance to contribute is something I’m grateful for.

Returning to Australia is special in itself, but doing it with a Club like Victory makes it even more meaningful. I’m ready to give everything for the team and play my role in what’s ahead.”
