Ryan Teague Departs Victory for KV Mechelen

Melbourne Victory confirms that Ryan Teague will depart the Club for Belgian Pro League team KV Mechelen for an undisclosed fee.

Teague had a standout 2024/25 Season for Victory in the Isuzu A-League, playing 28 matches and dominating in midfield to earn himself second place in the Club’s Victory Medal along with the Mens team Players’ Player of the Year, and a place in the PFA Team of the Season.

As the youngest member of the Senior Men’s leadership group, Teague’s form earned him his first Socceroos call up and senior international debut in March, playing a key role in Australia qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Now heading to Europe, the 23 year-old said he was grateful for his time with Victory and the opportunities he had to develop as a footballer.

“My time with Melbourne Victory has been both challenging and rewarding,” Teague said.

“Having the opportunity to play for the largest club in the league, reaching two Grand Finals and contributing to the success of the Club has been a privilege. While I now step away from Victory, I’m grateful to the fans for their constant support as well as the opportunities and growth the last two years have provided.”

Director of Football John Didulica said he was proud of the leadership skills Teague has developed and looked forward to seeing his career continue with KV Mechelen.

“Ryan has shown exceptional growth since he joined the Club two seasons ago and we are incredibly proud of the role we were able to play in the development of his career,” Didulica said.

“Ryan arrived at Victory after a difficult period in Europe and his transfer to KV Mechelen is a testament to both the program we are building and the ability of players with Ryan’s motivation to thrive in our environment.

“We thank Ryan for his contribution to Melbourne Victory and have no doubt he will be an asset to Australian football over the next decade.”
