Keegan Jelacic spoke on his start to life in Melbourne and his excitement to return to his hometown in Victory’s Round 6 game in the Isuzu UTE A-League against Brisbane Roar.
A former player of the Roar who joined Melbourne Victory in the offseason, Jelacic knows what Arthur Diles’ team can expect from the Queensland-based side.
“It’s going to be hot, they are going to be up for the fight. So we need to work hard, stick to the basics, and hopefully goals start coming our way.”
The difference in climate was certainly something Jelacic had noted in his switch from Brisbane to Melbourne, but the 23-year-old is certainly enjoying the lifestyle down south.
“It’s been good, everyone has been very welcoming here.
“I think the weather is a bit iffy here, everything else is top.”
Reflecting on Victory’s loss in Sydney, Jelacic expressed his dissatisfaction with the outcome, while also emphasising the importance of building on the positives shown in the performance.
“It was a pretty disappointing result, but we definitely had a good first half. We dominated possession, shots… but I think we need to look at being more clinical and scoring our chances.”
