Voting is now open for the Turkish Airlines Player of the Month of December, with Melbourne Victory fans invited to choose from a trio of nominees.
The three-player shortlist represents some of Victory’s top performers in the Isuzu UTE A-League during December, with the Player of the Match winners during the month automatically nominated for the award.
After legendary Spanish midfielder Juan Mata took out the award for November, let’s look at the nominees for the Turkish Airlines Player of the Month of December.
Turkish Airlines Player of the Month nominees
Jason Davidson
Winning the first Player of the Month award for October, Jason Davidson finds himself in contention to win the award for a second occasion.
Nominated after putting in a Player of the Match performance in Victory’s 0-0 draw to Macarthur in Round 7, Davidson started in all four matches during December and recorded an average FotMob rating of 7.3.
Nikos Vergos
Kickstarting his 2025/26 campaign with a red-hot December, striker Nikos Vergos had a month to remember in navy blue.
Winning his first Player of the Match award after scoring a brace in Victory’s 2-1 win over Adelaide United, Vergos’ hat-trick against Wellington Phoenix to round out the month saw him take out a second Player of the Match award.
Recording FotMob ratings of 9.0 and 9.6 against Adelaide and Wellington, respectively, Vergos’ five goals during December have seen him shoot up to the top of the league’s goalscoring charts.
Jack Duncan
Conceding just two goals in December, goalkeeper Jack Duncan has also found himself nominated for the Player of the Month award.
Finishing the month with an impressive 7.8 average FotMob rating, which included his Player of the Match performance in the Melbourne Derby that saw him record an 8.7, Duncan was vital for Victory in between the sticks during December.
