Melbourne Victory will host a Female Football Round at the final Ninja A-League Women’s home match of the season this weekend, celebrating the women shaping football.
Victory face Western Sydney Wanderers, who they beat 1-4 in the reverse fixture, on Saturday, March 14, kick-off 6pm AEDT, at the Home of The Matildas.
The match day, a shared and inclusive experience embodying the 2026 International Women’s Day theme of ‘Give to Gain’, is focused on driving outcomes that can elevate participation opportunities and community engagement for women and girls within the elite ALW space.
Pre-match, the Club, in collaboration with the Australian Government’s Play Our Way program, is hosting a women’s panel, championing women’s football and leadership, and staging a girls’ small-sided football tournament, representing the pathways from grassroots to professional women’s football.
Gates will open at 5pm, with a series of activations, including jersey and match ball giveaways, player interviews, and the latest player card drop, taking place.

Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie, commented:
“We look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new fans to both the Victory family and our Female Football Round on Saturday, during what is a game-changing period for the women’s game in Australia as the country hosts the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
“We know the best way to make a difference and accelerate the women’s game is to encourage more and more fans to come along and support our elite and professional women’s teams, as the strength of women’s sport on the international stage, starts domestically. For that reason, this round is incredibly important to building engagement and support.
“Through tailored community activation, the match day will connect girls and women from community programs, schools, clubs, Football Victoria and Melbourne Victory networks through football, conversation, and shared experience.”
