Melbourne Victory can confirm the departure of Arthur Diles as A-League Men’s Head Coach.
Diles joined the Club in July 2023, operating as Assistant Coach first under Tony Popovic and then with Patrick Kisnorbo before being appointed to the senior position during season 2024/25.
The 44-year-old led Victory in 50 Isuzu UTE A-League matches, a tenure that included successive top-six ladder placings and leading Victory to the Grand Final at the culmination of the Club’s 20th season. Diles will depart the Club at the end of his current contract.
Melbourne Victory Chairman, John Dovaston, commented:
“I would personally like to thank Arthur for his efforts across the past three seasons, especially recognising his service as Head Coach. We feel now is an appropriate time to make this change, viewing this juncture as an opportunity for the Club to continue to evolve and build for success both today and tomorrow.”
Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie, added:
“Arthur assumed the Head Coach role in the face of difficult circumstances and a tough climate, but has fulfilled his duties with the utmost professionalism. On behalf of Melbourne Victory, we extend our thanks to him for the role he played both on and off the pitch while at the Club, and of course, wish him all the best for the future. This is an important time for us to be bold and unapologetic in our ambitions as a Club, and we will look to do just that ahead of next season.”
No further comment will be issued until the appointment of a new A-League Men’s Head Coach is announced.
