Melbourne Victory claimed an injury-time win over Alamein FC in Round 25 of the Senol NPL Victoria Women.
The Girls in Blue refused to settle for a point after being pegged back during the second half, taking the spoils in the 93rd minute at the Home of the Matildas on Saturday afternoon.
Victory led as early as the 10th minute, with Sienna Saveska intercepting a mishit clearance from the opposition goalkeeper Miranda Templeman and lobbing the ball in.
However, three-quarters into the match, Alamein responded from a corner when Emma Runnalls’ header burst through a cluster of defending players to level matters.
That appeared to have decided the outcome until, in the contest’s final breaths, Emmy Traynor’s cross was finished first time by late substitute Anastazia Simic.

Speaking to MelbourneVictory.com.au, A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, focused on the team’s development across the campaign, now allowing them to come out on the right side of tight games.
“This was a really pleasing performance from our group of young players against a team that were pushing hard for a top six place.
“We got the balance right between attacking with good numbers and making sure that we didn’t make it easy for our opponent to counter on us. Our back four and goalkeeper stood up and were strong in the key moments later in the game allowing us to steal the three points we deserved, and proving this young team has matured and progressed really well from the start of the season.”
