Melbourne Victory recruit Surat Sukha represented Thailand in a 1-1 draw against English Premier League giant Liverpool in an international friendly at Bangkok-s Rajamangala National Stadium on Wednesday.
Sukha, who joined Melbourne Victory from Thai club Chonburi FC earlier this year, faced a host of international superstars including Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano and Jamie Carragher in front of a bumper Thai crowd.
Dutch international Ryan Babel scored for Liverpool in the opening minutes before Thailand equalised through Sutee Suksomkit in the second half.
Sukha is due to return to Melbourne on Friday, but is not expected to take part in the club-s Grand Final rematch against Adelaide United in Launceston this Sunday.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Victory recorded a 1-1 draw against Victorian Premier League outfit Green Gully in a closed trial match on Wednesday.
Nick Ward struck first for Melbourne Victory, while former Australia international Pablo Cardozo converted a Green Gully free kick to level the score in wintry conditions.
The trial match was played behind closed doors to give Melbourne Victory players the opportunity to push for selection and coaching staff the chance to experiment ahead of the club-s season opener against Central Coast Mariners at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, August 6.
Tickets for Melbourne Victory-s friendly against Adelaide at Aurora Stadium this Sunday (kick off 1pm) are available from Max Events by calling (03) 6333 0889, through www.maxevents.com.au or from Launceston City Council Customer Service Centre or Football Federation Tasmania.
