Melbourne Victory Women announced its first major sponsorship on Wednesday, with solar retailer Clear Solar to be displayed on the front and back of the team-s home and alternate kits in 2009/10.
Melbourne Victory CEO Geoff Miles said the club is thrilled to form the one-year partnership with Clear Solar.
“We-re very pleased to announce that Clear Solar will be the major sponsor of Melbourne Victory Women for the upcoming season,” Miles said.
“This sponsorship announcement is on the back of the Victorian Government-s support of the women-s team and is really pleasing for us and no doubt for all the girls playing the game here in Victoria in increasing numbers.
“We know that Clear Solar is doing a great job in supporting the environment by providing solar panels for business and homes throughout the country, with a great base here in Melbourne, so it-s a great fit for us and we look forward to an exciting partnership.
“Melbourne Victory Women is a partnership with Football Federation Victoria and we look forward to working with them in the coming season.
“The support of Clear Solar as major sponsor of Melbourne Victory Women will help Melbourne Victory and Football Federation Victoria to assist our talented female players to play at the highest level and aspire to achieve dreams of representing their country, as our goalkeeper Melissa Barbieri has done with the Westfield Matildas.
“In uncertain economic times, it-s great to have a front of shirt sponsor for our teams in the Hyundai A-League and National Youth League with Intralot, and now for our team in the Westfield W-League with Clear Solar.”
