Melbourne Victory striker Nathan Elasi sealed the Qantas Young Socceroos- 2-1 win against Thailand at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U19 Youth Championship in Bangkok overnight.
After making his first start of the tournament, Elasi made no mistake scoring Australia-s second goal from close range on 60 minutes after receiving a pinpoint ball from Queensland Roar-s Tahj Minniecon.
Fellow Victory defender Sebastian Ryall and Victory Youth midfielder Milos Lujic both played 90 minutes against the host nation, with the result ensuring Australia will face Korea Republic in the Grand Final on Saturday.
Qantas Young Socceroos Coach Jan Versleijen was pleased with another win.
“We have finished the group stage of the tournament in top position and that was our aim.
“In these first three games I have used as many players as possible, but now that we’re moving into the knockout stage, I will be using the strongest possible team especially as we’re also preparing for the Asian Championships later in the month.”
