Melbourne Victory is pleased to welcome back New Zealand international midfielder Annalie Longo ahead of the 2020/21 Westfield W-League season.
Longo returns for a second campaign in the navy blue, featuring 13 times and scoring twice as Victory reached a Semi Final last season.
With 123 appearances for the Football Ferns, Longo adds further experience to Victory’s midfield with her international teammate, defender Claudia Bunge, also signed for 2020/21.
The 29-year-old said she was happy to be back for a second season, as Victory looks ahead to its opener against the Western Sydney Wanderers on December 27.
“I am really grateful to be returning to the club. I enjoyed my last experience in the W-League and I’m looking forward to another season,” Longo said.
“I’m excited to start another campaign and build on the success we have created over the past few seasons.
“With the help of Jeff and the staff, we are looking to create something special and I can’t wait to perform in front of our loyal members and fans again.”
W-League Head Coach Jeff Hopkins said he was happy to have Longo back for another season.
“Annalie added plenty of drive, determination and creativity to our midfield last season,” Hopkins said.
“She also brings a lot of experience, having played at four FIFA Women’s World Cups, and her leadership is a huge asset to our squad.
“Annalie bolsters our midfield group even further as we look to improve on the foundations we have set over the past two seasons. It’s great to have her back ahead of another big season.”
