Melbourne Victory head coach Grant Brebner described the performance in Saturday’s Melbourne Derby loss as unacceptable.
Victory suffered a 6-0 loss to City in the A-League at Marvel Stadium.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Brebner discussed the game and his side’s form.
on the game…
“Quite simply it wasn’t good enough. I’m not going to sit here and try and find excuses for it. It was an unacceptable 90 minutes, never mind the second half, it was humiliating, unacceptable.”
on the result…
“I didn’t think before the game that a result like that would occur and it’s something that we need to continue looking at because it’s not a position that anybody at this football club wants to be in and most importantly our members and fans.”
on form…
“It’s not a comfortable position and it’s absolutely not a position we want to be in. Is it rock bottom? In terms of a result, yes. In isolation of 90 minutes, it’s rock bottom, but there is some things that we can still look forward to moving forward.”
