Victory adds Marzano to W-League squad

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of forward, Gabe Marzano, as an injury replacement player in its Westfield W-League squad.

Marzano, 29, joins Victory after previously playing for Perth Glory, Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC.

The forward replaces Natalie Tathem, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in Round 1, in the Victory squad.

Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins was pleased to strengthen his squad late in the season.

“I’ve spoken to Gabe a few times over the last couple of seasons and it’s never quite come off,” he said.

“She’s moved to Melbourne this season and as soon as she came we got in touch and it’s a good little fix for us.

“This week we’ve got a suspension (Lia Privitelli), if we get any injuries it’s good to make sure that we’ve got a little bit of cover.

“She’ll come into the squad straight away this week and it’s good to have someone with her ability and her experience to bolster us over the next hopefully four or five games.”

Marzano could make her Victory debut against Perth Glory at Dorrien Gardens on Tuesday.
