Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that John Didulica will join the Club in the newly appointed role, Director of Football.
Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie said the Club is thrilled to announce John Didulica’s appointment.
“JD will bring a wealth of football experience to Melbourne Victory,” Carnegie said.
“He has worked for Football Australia, Melbourne Heart and then completed a successful four years’ as Chief Executive of the PFA. We are excited for him to bring his football and sporting expertise to the Club.
“When I stepped into the role as Managing Director, my first strategic priority was to ensure that we had the best resources, structure and skill to support our football programs and we were single minded in our efforts to bring Didulica on board.
“Our members and fans have been amazing over a long period of time, and we understand that change was required.
“Our fans deserve the very best from the Club, both on and off the pitch, and we can never have another A-League season like 2020/21 – it was simply unacceptable.”
Chairman, Anthony Di Pietro is looking forward to the Club’s new leadership appointments, with Carnegie as Managing Director, Didulica as Director of Football and Tony Popovic as the new A-League Head Coach.
“Caroline, John and Tony provide us with outstanding expertise across both the commercial and football aspects of the business,” Di Pietro said.
“We are confident the Club has the right team in place to lead Melbourne Victory’s re-build and are excited about the added football expertise, at the highest level, with Didulica coming on board.”
Didulica said he was honoured to join the Melbourne Victory family.
“A strong Melbourne Victory means a strong competition and I cannot wait to work hand in hand with Caroline, Tony, the Board and of course all of our staff to help deliver sustained success,” Didulica said.
Didulica will start as the Director of Football on 1 July and will work across all Melbourne Victory football programs including the A-League, W-League, NPL and the Academy programs.
Drew Sherman will depart his current role at the Club, and we thank Drew for his contribution as the GM of Football.
