Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish player Rai Marchan for the 2021/22 A-League season.
The 27-year-old was a product of Real Madrid’s youth system before moving to Valencia B in 2015.
The central midfielder, who has also represented Real Valladolid and Celta Vigo, has spent the last two seasons with FC Andorra.
Victory A-League Head Coach, Tony Popovic, said Marchan will provide unique qualities in the middle of the park.
“Rai is a very gifted player who will provide us with real quality out of the midfield,” Popovic said.
“He is still at a great age, a top professional in all respects and the sort of player who can make a special contribution.”
Marchan will link up with Popovic’s squad after the completion of his quarantine period.
“I am looking forward to playing in Australia and at Melbourne Victory,” Marchan said.
“I am clear on Tony’s direction for Melbourne Victory and I am excited to be able to play a role in that.
“I also understand the passion of our fans at the Club is outstanding and I cannot wait to play in front of them and create some excitement.”
