Melbourne Victory is set to be boosted by the returns of several players when it hosts the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park on Sunday.
Summary
Victory hosts the Mariners after a tight 1-0 loss to Sydney FC at Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday.
Under the guidance of interim head coach Steve Kean, Victory had its moments, but fell to defeat after Bobo’s early goal.
It is set to regain three players – Jake Brimmer, Callum McManaman and Robbie Kruse – from suspension for the clash against the Mariners.
The trio were suspended for the trip to Sydney due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
That provided an opportunity for Lleyton Brooks to make his first A-League start and the 20-year-old attacker produced an impressive performance, during which he hit the post with a second-half header.
Goalkeeper Matt Acton starred during the encounter, making nine saves, including several crucial stops in the second half.
