Academy Preview: NPL3 travel to Ballarat, Juniors away to City

NPL3

Melbourne Victory’s NPL3 side will look to maintain its grip on top spot on Saturday as they head to Ballarat to face Ballarat City.

With the ladder currently taking shape heading into the final third of the season, Joe Palatsides’ side sit six points ahead of second place Nunawading City and will accept nothing less that three points this weekend as they face the only winless side in the league.

It was a comprehensive first-half performance that secured the result last week at home to Doveton as a double from Adem Duratovic was supported by Noah Spaseski, Kasey Bos and Austin Ganino in the 5-0 rout.

Ballarat prop up the table with only two points in 13 matches this season however one of their two points came last week against Geelong in a 1-1 draw away from home.

Yushiro Shiomi and Chol Chol share the top scorer mantle for City with four goals each this season.

The Under 20’s will be looking to maintain their eight-point buffer at the top of the table in the curtain raiser.

Victory face Ballarat on Saturday at Morshead Park, kick-off 3.00pm Under 20’s 1.00pm.
